who doesn’t love a basset? ~ {Burlington, Ontario pet photographer}

you saw Flash’s sneak peek here, but i figured it was time to share some more photos from this big boy’s shoot earlier this fall.

seems a little backwards to be sharing these now since Flash’s big canvas and prints, and his big Best in Show flushmount album have already been prepped, designed and ordered.  can’t wait to see all of this boy’s stuff when it comes in.

what a handsome boy.

of course, looks this stunning require frequent beauty-rests …

but don’t let that slow, sloppy face or those fat, flippery feet fool you.  this boy can move …

especially when promised a “w-a-l-k”.

Flash was adopted through the Basset Hound Rescue of Ontario three years ago, and i can firmly attest to the incredible love which surrounds this big lug today.

he is the centre of mom and dad’s universe …

and let it be known that this boy knows no boundaries.  he’s up for any challenge …

our session was plagued with some rather gray skies, and darkness came much earlier than forecast … but we made the most of it.

… using the last of the light to capture some shots of Flash at … well … basset-warp-speed …

and, of course, no basset shoot would be complete without a double snaggle-tooth …

thanks, Flash, for a fun shoot.  and thanks Micheline and Doug for sharing your wonderful boy with me.

  • AnnaToo cute, I will have to share these with my husband, he has always loved Bassets. Soooo how did you get him up on the rock wall? And it’s nice to see that they make an effort to maintain his nails. So often I see the short legged dogs with really long nails, which can’t help their mobility at all.

gilmour and murphy’s sneak peek ~ {Kawartha Lakes, Ontario pet photographer}

you saw ’em on the scruffy dog facebook page first, but for those of you who may not be on facebook, i figured you might want to see these two boys … and for those of you who do follow us on facebook, here are some new sneak peeks from Murphy and Gilmour’s session up in the Kawartha Lakes area …

this is Gilmour …

… and his new rescue brother Murphy.

Murphy has only limited sight in one eye, so for safety’s sake, he had to stay on one of the scruffy dog long lines.

Gilmour, on the other hand, was a wild man …

you’ll be seeing more of these two in the future, once the heavy fall shooting schedule eases up and we can catch up on some of the post work around here.

so stay tuned!

  • Tucker's MomThey’re both beautiful – can’t wait to see more of them!ReplyCancel

  • VanessaI’m part of the group that adopted Murphy out to Laura! You wouldn’t believe what he looked like when he came to us. He weight 24 lbs, was skin and bone and we actually didn’t have hopes that he would make it through the night (he was found wandering in a blizzard – even scarier given that hes blind!)

    He looks FANTASTIC now and the photos that you took showcase him perfectly! SO happy to see him looking so carefree. Great pictuters!!!ReplyCancel
