senior puppy sneak peek ~ {Ontario pet photographer}

our fall crush has begun early this year, so keeping up with the blog is a little tough these days.  of course, you can always see sneak peeks on the scruffy dog facebook page.  in the meantime, i’ll try my best to keep you updated with some of the awesome faces who have become members of the scruffy dog family these past few weeks.

you’ll be seeing more of this little dollface Brianna …

… and i’ll tell you more about her story once her images are finished.  but i simply had to give you all a sneak peek.

can you believe this little puppy is 10 years old?

stay tuned for more photos of this wonderful girl, and even more awesome 4-legged clients!

  • SolteraOkay, Brianna takes the cake…I almost cried. Crying at your desk = not good! This is some of your bestest with the mostest, Illona!ReplyCancel

  • mike smithGreat shots do you shoot only natural light, or do you use flash? Do you do much post processing? Really love your workReplyCancel

    • illonathanks, Mike, if outdoors — always natural light. if indoors — flash when it’s absolutely needed. post-processing – yes, post work is an important aspect of any photographer’s workflow, but i don’t do any ‘fake’ stuff — blur out backgrounds more, add anything that wasn’t there, etc. I work each image staying true to the moment that was shot. the only extensive post work done is removing leashes, eye goobers, etc.ReplyCancel

  • DianaHi, I just LOVE all your pictures. I dont know if you would want to tell me, but what lens did you use to get the shot of the dog in the field where you can see the rolling hill of grass/wheat behind the dog? Thanks, DiaanReplyCancel

you’re invited to the Ally Cats BBQ! ~ {Kitchener-Waterloo pet photographer}

whachu doin’ tomorrow?  wanna have a little fun with Bowzer or Fifi and have some tasty BBQ?  and while you’re at it, meet some awesome pet-related businesses in the area, ready to serve you?

yeah, i know the invitation is a little last minute … we’ve been swamped here at scruffy dog, and just this morning we’re gathering up the artwork and other show pieces that will be on display tomorrow at what promises to be a super fun event.

and YES, Merrick WILL be in attendance!!  i mean, if the free barbecue wasn’t enough to entice you, surely a meetup with the goobernuts himself should be, no?

from 2:00-5:00 tomorrow (Saturday, August 20) come out to 285 Woolwich Street South in Breslau.  and yes, there’s all that nasty construction going on, so if you need directions, drop us a line, and we’ll send you the best way to get there!

and if you think the BBQ for the 2-leggers was somethin’, there’s even more for the 4-leggers!  … frozen yogurt pops, bananas … no wait, banDanas, toys!, treat!, chews! … and oh yeah, baby! PUPPY POOLS!!!  now you know where you’ll find the Goobernuts!   oh yeah, and there are goodies for the feline 4-leggers in your life as well.

not only will scruffy dog and the super adorkable Merrick Goobernuts McScruffy be in attendance, but you’ll also have the opportunity to meet:

Impressive Canines Training

Fur Ever Loved Pet Salon

Rens Pets Depot

Complete Pets

Grand River All Breed Animal Rescue

and yes, the KW Humane Society.

all you need to bring other than your 4-legger is a lawn-chair and towels for your pup (and yourself if you get too close to the Goober) … and please bring lots of change for the animal charities supported by this event.

the weather looks promising, so what are you waiting for!?  drop Ally Cats a line at [email protected] to let them know you’ll be attending (a headcount is required for the barbie).  we’d LOVE to see you!!

  • illonayes, Lin, you’ve got the directions right! and i’m not dreading the dreaded spoo. 😉 looking forward to seeing you again.ReplyCancel

  • Lin StoneDue to construction on Woolwich, and Fountain being closed between Kossuth and Menno, I think the way to get in is to take Hwy 7/Victoria to Fountain and turn on Menno to Woolwich. See y’all there, and yes I will be bringing the Dreaded Poodle ;-DReplyCancel

a couple of faces from the other week ~ {Ontario pet photographer}

as i mentioned the other day, things are pretty busy here at scruffy dog headquarters, and it’s hard to keep up with any blogging.  so here are a couple of great faces from shorter shoots the other week.

first up, Buddy …

and if this big boy looks happy, you bet he is!  he greets you with big smiles and wide tail wags …

it actually took a bit of work to get Buddy wound up; he would have been quite satisfied to just sit or lean on you and receive all the attention you’re willing to dole out.  but what dog doesn’t like a good stick?

thanks for introducing me to your wonderful boy, Grace.

next up is Cooper …

Cooper hails from Bright, and seemed to quite enjoy the change of scenery for his session.

this gorgeous boy had never been in a river before, so our shoot was as much about capturing great images of this handsome boy as it was to introduce him properly to water.  i’d say it was a success…

thanks for making the trip to Waterloo, Cooper.  it was great meeting you and being part of your introduction to bigger water.
