marvelous macy ~ {Ontario dog photographer}

you saw her sneak peek here, and now i get to share her full blog splash with a sampling from her Standard session.  yup, this is sweetiepie Macy, and if she can’t put a smile on your face, i’m not sure what will …

now there’s something you should know about Macy.  she is not your typical yorkie.  yeah, she’s tiny … like, really tiny … far tinier than her sister Bischa

but she’s got a big spirit, and she’s far more confident than any yorkie i’ve shot in the past.

she’s just an absolute doll, and a supremely willing model.

and she loves her mommy and daddy.

like a lot of clients these days, Macy’s parents wanted to head out to my favorite spot for the forest and the beach …

i do have other locations up my sleeve, but too many people love the “tunnel of trees” and i admit, i do love the light at the beach …

even on a grey, overcast evening, we can still pull some lovely, subtle colours out of the sky …

and i did mention that Macy loves her momma, didn’t i?

oh yeah, and Macy loves to run …

and she tolerates being set up into trees … mostly because there is the promise of squirrels …

and she really has the cutest hair-do …

thanks, Macy, for being such a fabulous little model.  and thanks Michelle and Shannon.  looking forward to seeing you at your studio consult.

… and cats too ~ {Ontario pet-exclusive photographer}

this is blue-eyed Bischa …

… and yes, her eyes are really this blue.

the thing about Bischa is that she’s still a kitten and full of beans … and she loved my cat toy.

in fact, this girl played so hard with me that she was panting and i had to let her cool off.

but the cool-down didn’t last too long …

she was ready to go again …

wild cat!  and what you’re seeing here is just a sampling of Bischa’s antics.  so yes — as per two separate inquiries received just today — we definitely shoot cats as well … and have a lot of fun doing so.  in fact, i’m willing to bet Bischa slept a little more soundly after her photo session.

hope you enjoy your gallery of images, Michelle!

three furry faces to get you through hump-day ~ {Ontario pet-exclusive photographer}

just a quickie blog entry this morning as we have a busy day here at scruffy dog headquarters … but we could hardly leave you without a smile to get you through hump-day …

these are just three faces from a pack of eight amazing rescue dogs i shot earlier this fall as part of a christmas present for their owner …

first, greyhound Luna … in a wheelchair and for whom the session was originally intended until i found out the entire eight-is-enough-pack was made up of rescues and said: “we’ll make it work. let’s shoot them all!”

then, ball-crazy and oh-so-photogenic Sparks …

and always last, but never least … sweet Hannah … i was so ready to take this dollface home as she was the straggler in the pack and i know Merrick would have adored her …

have a good Wednesday, everyone!  love your pups!

oh, and if you haven’t already heard, scruffy dog photography has been nominated for Best Pet Photography by The Toronto Pet Daily.  check out their website and the other photographers and place your vote for your favorite.  VOTING IS EASY … no signing up for anything, just one click (down the right hand column of the website).  and while there, check out the other pet news …
