this is just to tide owners Jill and Bruce over, since their session was a “squeeze-in” and the post-production work won’t be complete on our “squeeze-in” sessions for some time …
enjoy!
Adorable!
sometimes i worry that i’m overdoing these trees, but it’s the clients who are demanding them. and not unlike some photographers who have their own property for shooting (i’m still dreaming), this area — the trees, the beach, the fields — are kind of like my own special place. 🙂
Jill and Holly, these two definitely tried my patience … but the cold on the beach was doing its share of making the shoot difficult.
Wow – gorgeous dogs and pic.
@ Holly….I’m willing to bet Oscar and Kahlua two were one of the most frustrating sets of dogs Illona has ever shot. They drove me bonkers during the shoot and I wasn’t the one taking the pictures!! But, as we all know, Illona works magic with her camera and shots like the one above are what sets her apart from the rest.
What a gorgeous pair of dogs. They do look like they could give you a run for your money! 😉
Thank you Ilona!!! I love it and can’t wait to see the rest of my gallery!!!
Love these woods! Beautiful light
great! love that grove of trees and never tire of seeing doggies in it!!
oooo….. I really like these two. Can’t wait to see more.
this is Rosie …
she’s got gorgeous eyes …
but at only a year and a half, don’t expect this girl to hold still very long …
and if she does sit, it’s not for very long. in fact, you can see her ears moving here from her head swinging around as she’s about to take off again …
fall is obviously the nicest time of the year to shoot because of the softer light and the variety of colours, but a lot of people don’t even consider november. as long as the weather cooperates, november can actually be my favorite time … i just love the dried grasses, especially with black dogs …
and the boardwalk was a gorgeous backdrop as well …
the quarry was a unique backdrop as well … with just enough breeze to catch Rosie’s tail tuft …
and more manic running …
then, just some chillin’ on the boardwalk …
and through all of this, Rosie wasn’t entirely keen on the camera, as the next image demonstrates. so most of the images you see here were taken with a telephoto to give her the space she needed.
in fact, Rosie was quite different from most dogs who may not immediately warm up to the camera. with dogs who are a little nervous around the camera, i start their session outdoors where the excitement of being on a walk with many distractions diffuses the shutter and the notion of the big black boxes following her around. but Rosie’s response was the opposite. while outside she became less and less enthused with the concept of the photoshoot, but back home was quite okay with it. of course, this could have had something to do with the large and extremely noisy remote-control car that was being tested in the small parking lot of the quarry upon our arrival which gave Rosie a horrendous fright and seemed to set the stage.
either way, at home, Rosie seemed far more relaxed …
thanks, Rosie. and thanks for introducing me to your wild, happy girl, Andrea. i hope you enjoy your gallery.
These are all so fantastic – I love the crazy running shots you always get!
Beautiful set!
Such a great assortment of shots. I think I like the resting on the bridge shot best. I think you’ve done a freat job of capturing this girl!
I particularly like the photo of Rosie with the leaves, and of course the one of her feet and tail, and of course the ones of her running. Well, I guess I’m just in love with all the photos of Rosie.
love it! what a wonderful way to wake to a rainy day! I love them all, but really the one where Rosie and her owner and resting at the boardwalk with just the feet pose! nicely done
