    These are so beautiful and moving! They made me tear up and wish I’d known and been able to hire you to take photos of Meg when we still had her and she was able to walk around. What a treasure for this family.ReplyCancel

    My family’s first dog was a Cairn Terrier, Skylar. He was 14 yrs when he passed and it happened very quickly. (24 hours) I wish I had great pictures like these to remember him by. My thoughts are with Harriet and Tom.ReplyCancel

    Lovely shots of a cutie! My faves are the look-up from among the red-shoe-clad feet of her humans & the shot of her head from behind–love those dark ear-tips 🙂
    Do you think they bought that carpet (in the last shots) for the way it complements her coat??! (if so, good plan in my book!)ReplyCancel

    Bridie was a beautiful dog and I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is like losing part of your family, but without you who knows what type of life the dog would have had. Knowing you gave a dog a safe loving home is a wonderful thing. Thanks to your caring, Bridie had a wonderful life.ReplyCancel

    It is a such a miserable time. I never stop missing my old boy and girl but it’s wonderful to have those photos of our very special friends. When they’re a bit older, it’s good to have some images of them in their own home and garden, being with their family, doing the things that make them happy and comfortable.ReplyCancel

keeps on ticking ~ {Toronto dog photographer}

you might remember Bridie … you first met this feisty little girl here, three months ago, when she was in renal failure.  well, with much love and diligence on the part of owners Harriet and Tom and their vets, Bridie is still going strong. when Harriet mentioned to me back in July that she’d like...

    I had the honour of being Bridie’s dogsitter when mom and dad were at work. She was one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever watched and was loved by all who met her. She loved to boss me around, loved her treats and loved sunning herself on my deck. She is missed so very much but I know firsthand what a blessed life this little sweetheart had. She was definitely one of the lucky ones. Love the pictures Ilona, you are incredible talented.ReplyCancel

this is why … ~ {Toronto dog photographer}

i’m often asked why it is i do what i do, especially after a pretty successful, twenty-year career as a novelist.  i guess there are a number of reasons, the bulk of which i won’t bore you with … but the main reason for scruffy dog photography, the purpose behind it, the passion and the...

    Poor Bridie – the Cushings and the renal failure. 🙁 But having just spent a couple days with my aunt and uncle, and their Cairn Terrier, my thoughts and understanding of the terrier heart are rejuvenated. Theirs (Lucy) is 11 and doesn’t show any signs of aging, except a few gray hairs on her chin, and a slightly more calm demeanor than when she was a youngster. Otherwise, she’s as spunky and filled with Terrier-ness as ever! GREAT little dog!!! I hope Bridie and her people enjoy every minute they have together (as I suspect they will)!!!ReplyCancel
