rosie ~ {Burlington, Ontario pet photographer}

this is Rosie …

she’s got gorgeous eyes …

but at only a year and a half, don’t expect this girl to hold still very long …

and if she does sit, it’s not for very long.  in fact, you can see her ears moving here from her head swinging around as she’s about to take off again …

fall is obviously the nicest time of the year to shoot because of the softer light and the variety of colours, but a lot of people don’t even consider november.  as long as the weather cooperates, november can actually be my favorite time … i just love the dried grasses, especially with black dogs …

and the boardwalk was a gorgeous backdrop as well …

the quarry was a unique backdrop as well … with just enough breeze to catch Rosie’s tail tuft …

and more manic running …

then, just some chillin’ on the boardwalk …

and through all of this, Rosie wasn’t entirely keen on the camera, as the next image demonstrates.  so most of the images you see here were taken with a telephoto to give her the space she needed.

in fact, Rosie was quite different from most dogs who may not immediately warm up to the camera.  with dogs who are a little nervous around the camera, i start their session outdoors where the excitement of being on a walk with many distractions diffuses the shutter and the notion of the big black boxes following her around.  but Rosie’s response was the opposite.  while outside she became less and less enthused with the concept of the photoshoot, but back home was quite okay with it.  of course, this could have had something to do with the large and extremely noisy remote-control car that was being tested in the small parking lot of the quarry upon our arrival which gave Rosie a horrendous fright and seemed to set the stage.

either way, at home, Rosie seemed far more relaxed …

thanks, Rosie. and thanks for introducing me to your wild, happy girl, Andrea.  i hope you enjoy your gallery.
