this year, please … do something for just one dog

this video was forwarded to me by a rescue group. you’ll need a hanky (unless you’re a stone), but please watch it.

please adopt, don’t shop. and PLEASE, make this the year you do something … for just one needy dog.

Princessangel - I am sobbing right now! This video needs to be aired on TV for all to see! Thanks for sharing! I support animal rescue!

illona - thank you, everyone, for taking the time to view this video and to pass it on.

i hope to be able to share some photos of Stanley here soon!

Valerie Beyer - Hi illona,

Great message — thanks for being a voice for these loving animals!

tee4tia - when I see images of dogs at shelters, it’s so heartbreaking and overwhelming to me. But thanks for reminding me that if we all do just one thing, whatever it is, we can make a difference. Thanks for sharing this.

utski - Wow… powerful! a hanky is an understatement…

Nice to see the update that he is wagging his tail more and has been neutered… that moment of his first little tail wag was too precious.
I have added a link to the video on my facebook as well. I hope someday all of the pets will have loving homes; till then I will repeat these messages… spay & neuter your pets! Adopt a pet!
thanks for sharing this amazing story

Kamala - Aww man, that was touching. He seems soooo sweet and he reminds me of so many dogs I’ve seen in the shelters; so messed up yet so forgiving. Thanks for posting this.

illona - thank you so much, everyone, for taking the time to view and comment on this video.

Stephanie Horner - Heartwarming and heartbreaking. I have been thinking about this sweet guy all day.

Emily - It’s awesome that you posted this video! Stanley is being brought up to be placed into a Vancouver Island based rescue. They asked Adam and I if we would foster him, but there are so many people who want to take him as a foster that he’ll most likely be going to my friend Michelle.

Right now Stanley is at a vet in California. He’s been undergoing treatment for his mange and he’s been neutered. He should be heading up here in a couple weeks, and, if we don’t take him, we’ll be having regular play dates with Daisy and Olive, so I’ll be able to post some update videos on flickr for you!

I have the password/login for the webcam to his kennel at the vet so we can watch him all day. He mostly sleeps, and when he’s not sleeping he’s wagging his tail at the vet techs who change his blanket and water.

Ellen - This made me cry but was well worth watching. This needed to be brought to people’s attention. Unfortunately, there are many dogs like Stanley. Thanks for showing this video.

Jean - Very touching Illona. There will always be a rescue here.

Rog - Heart breaking!

Margaret - OK Illona, I can hardly see my keyboard, what with the tears and all. But, what a great video, and Stanley’s story is well worth the tissues. You and the video are so right – so many dogs available at shelters and rescues. He looks like such a sweet boy, and shar pei – all or part. Thanks for sharing this heart-wrenching story. Really. Whose heart doesn’t need a wrench sometimes?
