Waterloo Dog group walk ~ {Ontario pet photographer}

merrick and i enjoyed the company of more than thirty wonderful owners and over a couple dozen awesome dogs today …

… as we joined Tami Packham, Certified Educator Trainer, of Waterloo Dog, for an awesome group walk.  (and yes, merrick’s up there.)  it was a big group and hard to cram into a frame.  next time we’ll try stairs, guys.

merrick made a ton of friends along the way, and hopes to enjoy playdates in the future …

… even if they’re a terrifying twelve-legged norwich  tarantu-terrier …

i’d have taken more photos, but was truly enjoying the break.  what an awesome morning!  and coffee courtesy of Bark & Fitz.  thanks, everyone!  see you next month!  and thanks, Tami, for such a great monthly group.

NOTE: for anyone at the walk this morning who would like a digital copy of the top image, let me know.  you can’t tell from the blog-sized image, but it’s a good, clear image of everyone … if you happened to want a print of a bunch of nutty people with their dogs in Waterloo Park, that is.  :)

crazy eyes dobie ~ {Waterloo, Ontario dog photographer}

this is Dobie, another shorter session client, and he’s got some crazy, awesome eyes …

this boy is a pure athlete … and ran almost non-stop during our shoot …

sometimes he even smiled when he ran …

but sometimes he stood still … for a bit …

but not for long …

thanks for the smiles, Dobie.  i hope your mom and dad enjoy your gallery.

lovely lola ~ {Waterloo, Ontario dog photographer}

another short session client … this is Lola …

she was a sweetheart during our session.

this one is one of my favorites from the day …

and just check out the spray of water coming up from the long grass in the wake of Lola’s running …

thanks for a fun romp in the alfalfa fields, Lola.  i hope your parents enjoy your gallery of images.

young at heart riley ~ {Toronto pet-exclusive photographer}

this is Riley …

you met him earlier in a sneak peek, and now i can share his fuller blog entry with a sampling from his finished gallery of images.

owner Shelley and her son Dan and i headed into the Riley’s favorite park for a  great walk with the old man on a glorious fall afternoon.  of course, i was very grateful to have Dan acting as my sherpa, lugging my heavy camera bag.  with such a full schedule this fall and some shoots booked back to back, my shoulders were happy to take a break from the burden of the extra camera and lenses.  thanks again, Dan!

not only is the light glorious in the fall …

… but, of course, so are the colours.

and i loved this bridge, even though the light breaking through the trees presented a challenge, and i had to wait for Riley to be in right position.

if you’re wondering, Riley is 16 years young, and is a spitz-poodle cross.  he’s a little hard of hearing and a little short-sighted, but — as my luck would have it — he loved the natural lamb treats i brought … well, almost every client does.

and what you’ve probably already noticed about Riley is that he’s got the coolest, most expressive ears.

what you should also know is that he is deeply, deeply loved.  in fact, i’d venture to say he’s revered.

and he sure loves his boy Dan.

when you think about it, at sixteen years, they basically grew up together.

whether on our walk or at home, Riley always worked those magical ears of his …

thanks for a lovely afternoon, Riley, and Shelley and Dan.  i hope you enjoy your gallery, and i look forward to seeing you again at your studio consult.

sweet little buster ~ {Waterloo, Ontario dog photographer}

this is Buster.  how adorable is he?

shooting this little guy in all this long clover and alfalfa wasn’t the easiest, but these fields are one of Buster’s favorite places to hike.

the woods offered a different backdrop, but Buster wasn’t always a willing model.

thanks for being such a sweet little guy, Buster.  i hope your mom enjoys your photos.
